Glenn E. Hinton Sr., 58, RR 4, Attica, died Friday morning, September 25. Authorities said death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

  Hinton was a self employed carpenter and cabinetmaker. He also had worked 12 years for Shrock Brothers Cabinet Makers in Arthur, Illinois where he lived 14 years. He had resided in the Attica-West Lebanon area before moving to Attica two years ago.
  Born June 21, 1923 in Independence, he was the son of Elmer T. and Hettie Gray Hinton. He first married Betty Brimberry from whom he was divorced. In 1959, he married Catherine Van Pelt who died in 1972. He then married Mildred Cronkhite who died in 1977.

  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Fountain-Warren VFW Post 3318, Moose Lodge 1482 of Attica, and the Federated Church of Attica.

  Survivors include his mother, Hettie Hinton Kane of West Lebanon; a son, Glenn E. Hinton Jr. of Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Ware of RR 4, Attica, and Mrs. Norma Smith of West Lebanon; three stepsons and six stepdaughters, a niece, three nephews, a grandson and several step grandchildren. -s-
